Golden Hills Motel

Booked a room here because it claimed to be 0.5 miles from the town centre - it's actually in the middle of nowhere and I had to drive 2 miles into town to get food after a five hour drive from Vegas. Room was shabby and cold, even though it was warm outside. Windows were single glazed and rattled constantly, due to the main road being just yards from the motel and traffic was heavy. We had to change rooms when we found the door could be opened from the outside even when locked with the room key. No security at all. Second room very similar to the first although the door was lockable so that was some improvement. Bathroom was scruffy with thin towels, the shower was so unpleasant we were afraid to use it. That was the nastiest place I was ever in. My husband did take a shower. I sat on the arm of the the chair and we left. The towels were ragged but clean. But the chair was filthy. And no way was I getting into that bed for the night. We were remodeling our bathroom and water was off for several days. This place was close and handy. Never again.

Excellent room and service.

For $90 a night, we had a very nice stay. The room was clean, the bed was nice, and we had everything we needed to accommodate our baby. The owner gave us an extra sheet to put over the pack n play to give our boy extra darkness during naps. The owner went above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Cons: Not worth what they charge. Paid 100/night for a run down, bare room with no coffee, no clock, sink was cracked and water sprayed everywhere, shower was like a pressure washer, seating in the room was matted with grease from many years of use, the blanket was stained and gross, the towels had holes/were threadbare/were barely bigger than a hand towel/were stained, the room wasn't cleaned well. Pros: The park across the street was nice. Air conditioner and fridge worked. Pillows were nice. Office was 24hr, allowing us to check in late at night.
