Gold Lodge

Basic necessities are in place BUT bring your own pillows and soap. We were warm in January with plenty of hot water. (Note to ownership - please invest in new pillows and quality soap.) Breakfast is sparse after coffee - just cookies and pre-wrapped danishes. (Fruit, yogurt and milk (cereal) would be nice.) The staff were friendly and close to downtown. New towels and linen were offerred during our second night - more then I get at a Hilto. Suggestion: get a room in the back off the main highway - much quieter.

The team is professional. Cleaning crew and front-desk maintain this budget motel as good as possible. It's a long walk to the city center.|Their management rules allows a minimal Sonora's experience. Some amenities are missing:|- room decoration: it's old and sometimes ugly|- A/C: it's not updated, it's noisy|- garbage bin: not only one in the room. Customers go outside, in the cold|- tv programs: bad experience|- remote control: broken|- bathroom: hot water with difficulty|- ice cubes: not readily available

Manager maintenance Keith is downright rude and severely creepy. Looked like he was making some questionable transactions with several people who would just come and go from hotel not stay.

We ended up getting two rooms for our large family. One of the rooms was not even cleaned and the front desk fully admitted that. Our sheets were yellow, there was scum and grime in the shower, there was pubic hair and women’s hair in the bedding not to mention a ball burn on each blanket. The room was full of flies and the AC hardly worked. it smell horrible. We went to the office to complain. She voided the transaction and we left immediately. I can say that the funds were back on our card within 20 minutes. We headed over to the Aladdin hotel and it was cheaper and nicer. Save your money and your time I suggest not touching anything entering the rooms .

Not the Hiltons obviously, great staff, fast, good price, friendly, convenient, just what we needed. Not a breakfast more of morning munchies 😋.
