Gold King Mountain Inn

I was very disappointed with our stay at Gold King Mountain Inn. The beds looked old and worn out, and there were no proper blankets — just thin, skimpy sheets. We looked under the mattress pad after we telt itchy and uncomfortable. After inspecting, there were several stains and we feared there were bed bugs. The mattress was so uncomfortable that we ended up sleeping on the floor. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which made it even more unpleasant for my husband who has asthma. On top of that, we could clearly hear loud jumping or thumping from the room above us throughout the night, making it difficult to rest. Recently I decided to give this place another shot.....Im not smart. I booked through a 3rd party as they offered free cancellation and no pre pay...they also had a better rate which I found odd. After booking my NO PREPAY room my card was charged for my 1st night??? I called thinking it was a mistake but was rudely informed that I shouldn't use a 3rd party. | I have stayed here with my family for years and years and have seen a steady decline in cleanliness/service/amenities. Recently however they have decided to add a Resort fee......are you kidding me???? For what? The pool and Hot tub have never been open at the same time. The sauna has been out of order every time. They took away the lobby coffee.| To think this place is connected to the Gold Nugget you would expect better.

Positive: The heated pool and hot tub Negative: They had canceled my reservation had to pay extra to rebook no head boards small tv vending machine only took cash ATM was out of order had to get dressed to get out to go to store for snacks.

Really don't care to leave bad reviews but my experience has been abysmal. The cleaners and management are an utter joke here. My wife and I attempted to stay the night here two weeks ago and will never return. Both the pool and the sauna were shut down which wasn't mentioned anywhere when booking. Then when we were going to bed we checked the mattress under the sheets and found multiple stains and the evidence of bed bugs. We packed up and left that night and filed a complaint at the front desk. The following day I never heard from a manager. I called again a few days later and it went to voicemail, again never hearing back from them. I've tried to be patient but this is ridiculous. If your afraid to talk with a customer about a complaint then step down and let someone else with some back

Booked through the golden nugget website, didn't even know this place was part of their hotel. Didn't receive the confirmation email until a dew days after my stay. The couch in the suite was absolutely nasty. I would never even think about sitting on it. The beds don't use fitted sheets, the curtains on the window are too small and let in so much light from the bright street lights in the parking lot, you could barely tell it was night time. There was no attendent at the front desk until 7:30am and I left a complaint that he couldn't take care of, but said he would pass it on to his boss, who never called or emailed me about it. I would never stay here again for free, let alone the $153 dollars I paid for the room.
