Gateway Hotel & Suites Ocean City, an Ascend Collection Hotel

This place is great. Stayed there in May and the staff was outstanding. Went back to Ocean City last week and called at asked if they had a room available and Carol said she did, but not 2 queen beds for all nights. She made a few calls and was able to make it work and called me back. As a diamond member at the Hilton and I've never gotten that level of service or any other large chains. The people make this place special. The people who great you, clean your room or do maintenance, they are so nice and polite and seem to really appreciate every guest. I don't remember all the names, but Carol, Josh, Melanie and George are delightful and so helpful. Everyone I came in contact with are great. I have 2 trips planned for 2026 and I'm staying at the Gateway.

We keep returning back to this hotel because of the amazing and kind staff especially Carol and Josh. They were wonderful from the instant we checked in to when we left as always. Nina was also super helpful to us during our long stay. The rooms are clean with fairly spacious bathrooms. No problems or issues whatsoever here!

We stayed for the car show in Ocean city. The hotel was very, very clean and its in a great location. The staff were sweet. Carole and the younger gentleman at the front desk were great. Definitely will stay here again. Everywhere was very clean in the hotel. There were several people in our group. They have a large area downstairs for everyone to sit and chat. Along with some games for kids.

We stayed here for four days with two separate rooms. The rooms were small, with two beds in each. The outside balcony had a light that shined brightly at night, and the curtains were not nearly sufficient enough to block out the light - it lit up the entire room. The outdoor seating wasn't very comfy, and the pool is extremely small. The walk to the beach was pretty close but, it was very difficult to cross the main road due to heavy traffic. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and our rooms were maintained nicely and super clean upon arrival. Although, the one room did smell heavily of body odor. Like others have mentioned, parking is extremely tight and difficult to maneuver. For the price paid, we'll be staying somewhere different the next time we come.

Loved the hotel. The rooms were nice. Oddly, the parking lot is unusually tight with veeeeeery thin spaces. We could barely fit our standard-size Toyota Camry into a space. I could only partially open my door. I was waiting for dings every day when I approached my vehicle.
