Fort McAllister Campground

Campground is so peaceful. I enjoyed sitting at my site and watching the animals walk by. Armadillos, raccoons, deer and of course squirrels. The boat launch was nice to walk to and sit on the swing. I was impressed with the handicapped size restrooms and showers. And the laundry facilities were very clean. It was nice to have parking spaces so you don't have to carry laundry. Having hookups was a bonus. The check in was easy with very nice staff. I like that there is a code at the gate to get in.

Fort McAllister campground is one of my favorite state park campgrounds. It's quitet and the sites are spacious with plenty of wildlife all around. There are full hook up sites available and also just water/electric sites. All sites are pull through, and are easy to get in and out of. The campground is surrounded by a beautiful estuary and there is no light pollution, so the night sky is soaked with stars.

Campground is well organized for maximum privacy. The sites were large and clean with frequent forest visitors! The Fort tour was enlightening, adding to the charm of Savannah and her incredible history!! Laundromat, clean single restroom/shower units, friendly staff and volunteers. 1-2 bars of Verizon . Lots of obstructions for Starlink but she got the job done. 2 delightful weeks! 4 Savannah Bananas Baseball games! Ahhh! Perfection!

Loved this campground. Close to sightseeing. Most sites spacious Shower house clean, laundry facilities. Trails, fishing, geocaching, boat dock and ramp, rentals.

I thought the park was great! We stayed in a 5th wheel in premium site with sewer right on the marsh. The boat launch and docks were very nice as well. I would be careful if it rains as many of the other sites flooded pretty quickly. Savage Island is really nice as other than the campground it's really in a natural statee
