Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Savannah SW/Richmond Hill

Welcome to the "Fairfield Inn " actually the Motel 6 without the name on the sign. Many years I stayed here on business when attending conferences in Savannah. Great place then. Oh my, this is not the same place. Went to check-in on Friday evening January 23rd 2026 and no one at the desk. Phone was ringing several times. No one to answer it. Finally the dude came to check me in after waiting 20 minutes. Totally unfriendly and no apologies. No welcome and thank you for being a Marriott member. No bottles of water offered. I go to the 3rd floor room and what did I find? I am in a handicap and hearing impaired room. I always specify I do not want that type of room on my reservation yet that's where I was assigned. He was a jerk when I came back down to let him know the issue. Finally

Super friendly and accommodating staff! Executive king room was clean and very spacious. Bed was very comfortable. TV in siting area had issues and Kashul from the front desk immediately came to the room and attempted to fix it. It never really performed correctly but since there was a second TV in the room it wasn’t a huge issue. The breakfast was mediocre but the guy managing it kept it well stocked and he was super helpful and friendly. Front desk lady was very friendly and made notes about the TV issue we had experienced. The area around the hotel has many dining and convenience choices. Will definitely stay here again on our way to Florida.

Stayed here twice on way to Florida and back. (Actually, our 5th or 6th stay over the past few years.) Well located just off I-95. Recently renovated. Good housekeeping. Everything was clean. New carpets. ||Front desk staff ranged from "fair" to "excellent." First visit, a manager was nearby when we checked in and the front desk clerk was friendly, informative, and welcoming. Second visit, no manager, clerk seemed disinterested and preoccupied on her cellphone while sitting in the lobby (not at front desk.) ||First visit we were traveling on our wedding anniversary (mentioned it during the online check-in), and they gave us a very nice bag of goodies and a nice card, a great touch. Positive: The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Negative: I didn't like the hotel staff person knocking on my door at 9:30am. I did not like hearing the loud moans and headboard knocking on my wall all night from the room next to mine.

We stayed on our way up to TN from Miami and found the personnel to be extra nice, welcoming, and accommodating from the front desk young lady and gentleman that checked us in to the lady who preps the breakfast and housecleaning the following morning. Hotel was quiet, clean and well decorated making it welcoming. On our way back earlier than expected due to the unexpected winter snow storm, we stayed here again and felt the same way which prompted me to write a review. Extra nice personnel and clean facility which I highly recommend if you are in the area.
