Fisherman's Inn

Not disappointed. Room was nice with a Queen and two twin beds,bureau,TV,fridge and Microwave. Clean and comfortable. Al was a great host and I slept like a log in the AC room.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical about this motel. I am more accustomed to Holiday Inn Express type of rooms. This was a different style room, with block walls wood ceilings, and key-locking doors. Upon arrival we found the room to be very clean and we quickly grew to really enjoy its comfortable bed and spacious shower with nice hot water. The owner and his Lady are wonderful people, very friendly, and really went above and beyond. The manager was available and ready to get us fresh towels each morning. She was a delight to talk with as well. As a plus, we rented a boat slip behind the Motel, which put us minutes from the bay and a short walk took us to the ocean. Planing a tent camping weekend on Cape Lookout, till the weather turned to a gale. Memorial weekend, and most of my family staying in hotels. A quick call to my sister to see if their place had a vacancy before a long drive home. My sister known as Miss Ann at the abode checked with the owner of her favorite lodge and secured us a stay at the Fisherman’s Inn, last minute, for a very reasonable price. I can vouch for the place not being the Hilton. I can also claim I didn’t know it was even a hotel the times I’ve passed by. But the place is super clean. I was treated like family while there. And if nostalgia is your thing. This single level motel, complete with dock (you can bring your own boat) will check all those boxes. You can even charter the owners boat to take you out if you’d like.

Greatest motel I have ever stayed at! Me and my friend stayed in the bunkhouse and it was so cute, cozy, and clean!! The A/C worked great along with the refrigerator and microwave. There were plenty of clean towels and wash rags. The bedding was comfortable and the shower had great hot water and water pressure. The owner was very nice and helpful, he made us feel very welcomed and had an incredibly sweet and adorable doggy. This will be our go to place from now on when we need a place to stay!!

The Fisherman's Inn is the type of motel you might have seen along Route 1 or Route 66 back in the mid-50's and 60's (drive-up motel, cinderblock walls, small dimly lit rooms, tile floors, window AC units, soft single/double beds, no curtains, small TV screens. etc). The price is high for what you get but it is clean and close to Captain Al's boat if you are planning to dive/fish with him. My room did have a refrigerator that worked, a microwave (that I didn't try out) and wifi. ||||There are several modern hotels in the area that have much larger rooms, king/queen size beds, better lighting, carpet, curtains, larger screened TVs and probably breakfast thrown-in too for just a few dollars more.
