Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Salt Lake City Midvale

The Fairfield Marriott in Midvale is an excellent hotel with even more excellent staff. I stayed there for three nights as part of my wedding weekend. Upon check-in, I asked the front desk clerk if they could do anything special for the room on the night my new wife was to join me after the wedding. Without hesitation, they said they would definitely pass the word along to the staff and see what they could do. When my wife and I arrived after the wedding, we were elated to find flowers, snacks, decorative items, and amazing swan towel art all laid out on the bed. It was above and beyond what we expected, and it made for a fantastic ending to a wonderful day. I really enjoyed my stay here! The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. I liked that it had two TVs and two beds, which made it great for relaxing and having space for everyone. The staff was friendly and check-in was smooth. Overall, a great experience — I’d definitely stay here again.

We've been staying at this Fairfield since it was brand new -- it is our go-to and overall it is a better than average hotel in all aspects. However, the property's decline has been rapid and obvious. We stayed here twice in December and it didn't look like the place had been vacuumed in weeks. The property exterior is falling into disrepair and overall the hotel has lost its sparkle. They only perform housekeeping once every 3 days which means most hotel clients won't receive a refreshen during their stay. As usual their service personnel are friendly and helpful but this property needs serious TLC. You would think that a property literally in the shadow of a Marriott corporate office would be maintained at the highest level!

Great staff and design - Breakfast good! Had scrambled eggs, bacon one day, sausage the next and a breakfast sandwich option both days, cereal, yogurt, waffles, toasts, muffins, bagels, milks, juices, and coffee of course. The beds are hard, bedrooms very clean and spacious, loved the huge shower in our room & the TV allows Internet TV options such as YouTube that signs you out when you turn off the TV. The shining star of my visit though was Ana at the front desk on Saturday morning. I found out she was in from Texas, where I'm from & was just in for that shift, then heading back. She was so kind and helpful and sweet. My only complaint really is the location is prime if you are ok hearing all the loud cars and trucks driving down the main street on the side of the building. We made a reservation for a room with a king bed, but none were available at check-in. They told us they only had rooms with two queen beds or a special room for people with disabilities, which we decided not use it in case a guest who really needed it could use it. They only gave us one key for the room, as they didn't have enough for all the hotel guests. The daily room cleaning, for the last few days, never cleaning the toilet; they only made our beds and provided new towels, but they didn't clean the toilet! Honestly, it was my first time at this hotel, but a very bad experience. For cheaper prices, you can find better hotels on this amazing location with better service than this one!
