Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Raleigh-Durham Airport/Research Triangle Park

Less than stellar experience. I'm a Bonvoy member and this was probably one of the more disappointing places that I've booked in quite awhile. The staff was friendly and nice, but the rooms were not. There was visible water damage in several places in my room. I always get nervous seeing that because you never know if there's mold behind it. The paint job looked pretty bad as well. Where the ceiling met the walls, there were places where you could see 3 or 4 different colors where they didn't do a good job trimming it in as they have repainted over the years. Also, the TV remote wouldn't allow me stream Netflix so that was a wasted feature. Breakfast was bad. Very clean and well maintained. Exceptionally friendly staff. Good breakfast is included, that does vary by day. Several restaurants walking distance Bojangles, Mexican, Cracker Barrel, Hooters. One of the cleanest and well kept hotels even compared to much higher price range. Yes you do hear the airplanes it’s an airport hotel. They have shuttle service.

I will never stay at a different hotel near the airport. Just one experience with the lovely woman who worked the evening I stayed has switched me to this hotel for life. I hope this place pays her well and gives her the credit she deserves. I wish all other hotels had staff like her. From the moment I walked in, she was attentive and friendly, asking if I needed anything else after checking in and even making jokes with my family. She gave us extra towels when we needed it and made us feel so welcome. I would have paid twice as much for the room for service like I received that evening. Thank you so much to her and her efforts.

We stayed at this hotel overnight. Overall it was a decent hotel - N0-Frills. The biggest advantage is the close proximity to RDU a short 10 min shuttle ride. The room was clean and functional although the television is small a needs to be updated. AC was cold and comfortable and the area around the hotel appeared to be safe.

Thanks so much to Katie at the front desk who made our unplanned stay after a plane mechanical failure. She was gracious, professional and did her very best to assist us with best rate and late checkout. Our beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and we got a good nights sleep. Thank you Katie!
