Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Columbia Downtown

I prefer Marriott hotels and will always look for the brand wherever I’m going. This was by far the worst Marriott hotel I’ve ever visited. First, the front desk and breakfast staff were not friendly. Housekeeping staff was nice. Second, the room was “fine” but not great. The curtains were ripped and difficult to open/close. The floors were not gross, but they could have been cleaner for sure. The A/C unit was very loud. Third, the breakfast was bad. The coffee was barely warm, the waffle maker was broken, the selection of breads were stale (could barely cut into the bagel to spread cream cheese on it), they ran out of milk and napkins! It was obvious that none of the hotel employees liked their job - they did not make any effort to make guests feel welcome. This hotel in no way represents

My family and I recently stayed here for my son’s graduation from US Army Basic Training. The location was a straight shot from the base. The premises were quiet and welcoming. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was good with a nice selection of food and drinks. I’d stay here again if I were in town again.

No shampoo or and Hygiene products. We didn't ask for any, it was late and we had to get up early in the morning. Other then that it was good for what we needed.

Positive: During my trip I ended up needing a room two different days and both times I checked in the staff was great and the room was so clean. Only had the breakfast the second trip and it was good. I will be staying here again. Negative: ""

I only stayed there one night I was there for work. As most people do, as soon as I entered the room. I did a smile check. I'm happy to say there were no foul smells. All of the linens were clean. The bed was made as if the person who made the bed was in the military previously. The bathroom was very clean as was the shower. There was complimentary shampoo conditioner and body wash. However, the shampoo and body wash were the exactly same. No biggie. The staff or otherwise known as the service staff was good. I had no issues. So check that one off. The location was in the middle of town. It was a few blocks away from i-26. I-20 and I-77. Great! I could not hear road noise too much at all. The only caveats to this stay was the very low water pressure! I'm the kind of guy that likes wate
