Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Athens

This hotel is a little gem tucked away in Athens. We checked in around midnight and despite it being late and the day before Christmas Eve, the woman at the desk was so sweet and inviting and got us checked in quickly. All staff I encountered were so pleasant. The room was clean and well stocked with linens. The breakfast bar is very well stocked with lots of inclusive options. The hotel and the area were extremely quiet for a good nights sleep. I booked for our way back and am glad I did!

There is a solid reason that Fairfield is rated number one in the area. We found not a single thing to complain about or even a small thing to critique. I knew we’re going to have a great experience as soon as we met Avery and Ben. They handled check-ins on the night we arrived. Ben had taken our call and made the reservation by phone and Avery handled the in person check-in. They worked great together. Both were light hearted and professional, very pleasant and a delight to work with. The room was very clean, well stocked with all we needed. The bed was very comfortable. We will be staying here again.

This hotel is such a gem. I make multiple reservations each year for visiting guests, and I frequently have to contact the staff to make custom edits to the reservation or get my credit card on file. Not only are the staff incredibly kind and patient on the phone, but they have never made a single mistake on any of my requests over the years. In particular, I believe the person who has helped me the most is someone named Cindy. Thank you so much for everything!

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms and common areas were very clean. The bed was cozy and comfy. The swimming pool staying open late was perfect because we enjoyed a late night swim. The pass card locks on everything were easy to use. The soundproofing between rooms was awesome because I didn't hear anything. I stayed here because of other positive online reviews and they were absolutely correct. Also having valet carts available for check in and out was really nice.

This hotel was very accommodating. I was able to check in early and even though I had a room issue, the staff was very quick in fixing it. The rooms were clean, the breakfast buffet was generous and for the most part it was a quiet hotel but for me, I got placed next to two rooms that slammed their doors all night long. Besides getting very little sleep, it was a comfortable stay. The location is decent for eating and some shopping. It’s also only about 6 minutes from Ohio University.
