Extended Stay America Select Suites- Fort Myers - Northeast

I booked a room at this hotel while driving back from Miami International Airport to my home in Tampa. I had just picked up my elderly mother who had returned from an international trip and had been traveling for over 13 hours. Because she was extremely tired, I did not want to drive the full distance home, so I booked a room around 9:00 PM to rest halfway through the trip. When we arrived at the hotel around midnight, there was no one at the front desk. I followed the instructions posted and called the number provided, which connected me to a call center. After waiting on hold, they contacted the manager on duty (either Cristal Mendoza or Courtney). When the manager finally got on the phone, they were rude and immediately said we could not check in. The location is nice and convenient. The staff is friendly. However, the maid/cleaning service is not great. I checked in to my room and immediately saw the floors were filthy and other area needed a bit of attention. Given I will be staying over 30 days, I went to Walmart, grabbed a Libman wonder mop, some disinfectant for floors and cleaned it myself. Did basic mopping and it was disgusting. I’m by all means not a professional, but felt it was necessary to clean my floors for me and my children in our room.

This hotel is horribly dirty and when I made them aware they offered to clean my room “free of charge”! They offered NO resolution for my room being dirty upon checking in. The guest relations dept refuses to return calls. From my past experiences with staying at hotels when you check into your room, it should be cleaned. Apparently this is not their practice.So if you have any kind of expectation of cleanliness, I would recommend that you not stay at this hotel. If in fact, you do then be aware that you will be charged to have your room cleaned. Apparently, they have set the standards extremely low on cleanliness with this hotel line and does not care about customer service and leaving their customer satisfied with their stay. Recently needed place to stay for a month,while in Fort Mters after moving out of my daughter's home. I required a handicap accessable room. The room was very clean, but lacked due to no pictures on the wall. However, there was a full size refrigerator, microwave and a counter top burners, as well as a table and chairs. The bed was average, and clean.. Staff was friendly and there is an elevator and laundry on site. My concerns were that I stayed here a month, and not once had anyone offer to clean my room or change my bed. Since I was sleeping in MY own recliner in the room, I did not feel xoncerned over the bed.
