Empress Motel

No stars don’t walk run don’t see how there still open all buddies live there have to be desperate to stay here never ever again

Motel (now called the “Uptown Suites”) was ok for what we needed. Went to a Rays game and John’s Pass which are both close-by. Motel is VERY basic. Rooms have been somewhat remodeled including vinyl planking in the floors, You would think that flooring like this would be easy enough for them to clean but after we walked around for a few minutes the bottom of our feet were black…it was gross. Beds are ok but pillows are awful…bring your own. The one good feature is that it was a two bedroom and a kitchen. Parking is very limited. Lots of fruit flies flying around. Window air conditioning units but only in the living room area and one of the bedrooms. Had to open the window in the 2nd bedroom but it kept falling off of the track. Very small bathroom. It was the worst experience of any hotel ever stayed in in St Pete over 7-year period. I've paid money to the front desk and there is thieves stealing money off the front desk register. They can't keep their balances right for what's paid It's been the worst hotel experience I've ever had my life. Don't ever stay at Empress Hotel. no tell motel. One of their employees actually went to jail and they acted like it didn't even happen and they're still charging people full amount like nothing was stolen. Con artists

It's okay. I would have given this place three or even a four stars but the woman at the front desk seems to be trying be make us as uncomfortable as possible by starring at my boyfriend and I. He's white and I'm black I guess in india it's acceptable to be so blatantly rude to paying customers Room had a broken (drug) pipe in it. The pool looks pretty clean but our tub had a cigarette but in it. She should pay more attention to her job rather than the people paying.
