Embassy Suites by Hilton Salt Lake West Valley City

Will never stay at this hotel again. When my wife and I checked into a room at 3, Annie, who was working the front desk, checked us in. She, was not very hospitable. We walked up to the desk and she just stared at us. In the evening we left our room, and when we came back, we were not able to get back into our room. We went downstairs, and Annie, the same front desk worker as before, was no where to be found. After standing there for about 5 minutes she finally showed back up. When I explained that we were not able to get back into our room she told me “there was a situation”. She had checked in the wrong individual, instead of us, which could’ve been easily avoided because she could’ve asked clarifying questions. And said that she would need to check us in again. First room had inoperable light switches. After being moved to a second room, the room was a 2-room suite with very modern furnishings, very comfortable bed, good Mountain View, excellent (strong pressure) shower, and a room safe. Unfortunately, beyond that the room had some major disappointments. These included: very limited number of TV channels, drapes too long (dragging on floor) and did not close completely, more non-functional light switches, sofa with worn out/sagging cushions, and a coffee table with broken feet. The Front Desk said she would have the hotel manager call me about my experience. I’ve yet to receive a call (not holding my breath). The front desk lady Annie who checked me in was amazing! She was so kind, patient, and genuinely caring. After a long day, her positive attitude and helpfulness meant more than she probably knows! She made me feel truly welcomed. Thank you for such wonderful service!

Positive: Great location, close to shopping mall, breakfast was AWESOME! Negative: Room light switches were cumbersome, some didn't work, & ONLY 1 USB charging port in the entire room!...& it was broken. :-(

Super friendly staff. Awesome breakfast. Wife and kids loved it. Great location with lots of restaurants close by. Under 45 minutes (with no traffic) to Snowbird and Alta ski resorts.
