Elkhorn Lodge

We have stayed here in 2013 and again in 2017. We just stayed again now in October because we love this spot! It's gone downhill big time now. Way more expensive than before and we were willing to pay but, it no longer has the charm. Our cabin was dirty and infested with bees. My husband is deathly allergic and we constantly were fighting to catch them. The ceiling is falling down in our cabin. We didn't think at about it until a horrendous hail storm hit last night lasting over an hour. The ceiling has clearly dropped even more in one spot. Then to top it off, at 5AM this morning the trash truck came and dumped the entire dumpster full of trash onto the ground making an ungodly amount of noise that drew us out of bed. Positive: Location. Negative: No toilet paper. No cups for coffee. No soap in dispensers. Bed was lumpy and terrible

Room has electrical issues, missing smoke detector, defective body wash dispenser, sliding glass door still has broken handle that was mentioned in comments 3 weeks ago. Property appears to be lacking maintenance. Housekeeping did not come in, towels were still in the floor trash can full bed unmade. As a former mom and pop lodging owner I found the safety items alone enough to post a review something I rarely do.

We were in town for a family wedding & stayed at the Elkhorn Lodge. It has a rustic feel but ticked all the boxes: we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, lots of towels, endless hot showers, quiet at night, could always ask a question via a text, free WiFi, and next door to the wedding venue. Would stay again!

Fantastic customer service from the team here. We had a great stay. Four ol college buddies loved the rustic cabin, proximity to the river, and the fair prices. HIGHLY recommend staying at the Elkhorn! When you go, get the Annie Oakley!
