Chama Trails Motel

Very nice for the area! Very clean, comfy, and stylish. Recently updated, comfy beds. Efficient and friendly service from The front desk! But as a solo female traveler I did not feel comfortable that the only “blinds” were shutters with hug gaps that allowed a clear view in from the courtyard/parking area. I covered it with a blanket for the night, but that’s something they should consider fixing. The location is also at the main intersection in Chama, which is convenient, but loud in the morning with large trucks accelerating close by.

I wanted to love this remodeled roadside hotel, especially because it is dog-friendly and clean and located in one of my favorite corners of NM (the South San Juan Wilderness north of Chama is one of my favorite places to hike!) But there is ZERO soundproofing in between rooms - it literally felt like the couple and their 2 dogs in the room next to mine were in my bed with me. So if you want a good night's sleep, I sadly cannot recommend and will be camping next time rather than enduring the lack of soundproofing between rooms here.

Great place to stay! Super clean! Cozy room! Rooms are updated with wood floors and ceilings. Newer tile in the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Owners are super people! Will stay here again!
