El Cordova Hotel

I had a one bedroom suite which was fantastic. The hotel’s location is right across from the beach access via Hotel del Coronado. I didn’t like the $30 plus tax per night “amenity fee” when there are no special amenities per se. There are a few restaurant coupons that are offered but nothing that adds up to $30 per day. Overall though, a very nice spot. Would come again.

Stayed here for one night in February 2026, but will not return. The front desk staff and location are both fantastic; A+ for those; in particular, the front desk clerk when we checked in went above and beyond to help us find parking. The room, however, was well below our expectations. We were expecting quaint and reasonably vintage (such as the decades-old window AC unit), but the room was tiny, water pressure in the shower was the lowest ever experienced, shower rod was badly rusted, and the bedding, although clean and comfortable, had a strong, very odd detergent/bleach smell. Courtyard was not wellmaintained and there were piles of rock hard sandbags that interfered with moving luggage. Even by Coronado standards, we considered the room overpriced for what it delivers. Location was fantastic. Close to great restaurants, shops, and the beach. Staff at hotel was exceptional!!! Couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. It set the tone for a great getaway. Rooms are large and having a kitchen was incredibly nice. The only downside is the noise at night. Rooms have thin walls and voices from the restaurant area and other guests kept us up until midnight. Perhaps, a room in a different area would be more quiet.

The attendant on when we checked in was great. The place was fine. The bedroom window does not open, not a big deal it was comfortable closed. It is Coronado, so the weather is great. We were woke at 0545 to loud loud voices. Then, at 0600 we got banging and loud voices. These people are literally just talking for the sake of talking and it is not regular loud. These people have found a new setting on the voice box, ultra loud. It is like a convention of hard of hearing people showed up to talk about their day, their weekend, and their families while banging whatever metal items possible. A guy walked up and yelled into the restaurant. This was to let them know he arrived. I could hear everything through the closed windows. That resturant is why the hotel seems empty. It is terrible.
