Edgewater Casino Resort

My husband and I decided to get away for the weekend for our anniversary. We called the phone number on the Edgewater website and booked and paid for the room. When we checked in we were told we owed resort fee of $52 and a $75 per night deposit for a total of $202. They said we booked through a 3rd party which we did not believe as we called the booking number on their website and they answered Edgewater Resort. We asked to speak to a manager and the assistant manager came up and said they could cancel if we didn't like the misrepresentation. We said no we had already paid when we booked. We were told that Edgewater didn't care if we gambled at their casinos or not. Made no difference to them. So we ended up staying. The room was average, no mini fridge. The bathroom was rather outda

The covered parking is excellent. The price was great with no extra fees. The room was in need of renovation but otherwise clean and functional. Casino was clean but very Smokey. A good value. We ate at dennys and enjoyed the meals. We took the jet boat and it right in front of the hotel.

Positive: Games at the bar; steakhouse; PTS Negative: Housekeeping walked into my room after I arrived without knocking. One night the lights were out in the Elevator the housekeeping asked if I were ok because I walked out of the elevator and it was nothing but darkness!!! I

Clean room; decor seemed a bit dated & bathroom could use better lighting. Customer service could improve. We only had 1 new roll if toilet paper and the roll that was in use was less than half remaining so I requested toilet paper in the morning at the front desk after grabbing a coffee & they told me to request it thru the room phone from housekeeping. So I did and it didn't come until the next afternoon. Good thing I ended up buying some at the Family Dollar across the street ascwe had 4 ladies staying in one room.

The Edgewater was nice. The rooms are large and the shower never ran out of hot water. The pool was also nice. And the price was affordable. The only reason I didn't go five stars is because there is no room service so you have to rely on Uber or one of those places for food and my wife forgot her slippers and we couldn't get anyone to bring her a pair. We would definitely stay again.
