Econo Lodge Watertown

I was right next to the hotel and didn't see it because the light was off or burned out. There were people out in the parking lot so I was kind of worried. I wasn't expecting much but when I got in the room I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't bad. It looked pretty clean but there was a beer bottle cap on the floor. I don't know how they could miss that. The window sill was very dusty but everything else was ok until I was going to shower in the morning. I tried to turn the faucet on and it wouldn't go on. The dial would just spin. I tried for a long time with no luck. I ended up using the sink. The continental breakfast was ok. I think the hotel owes me a partial refund.

Positive: It wasn't very busy so it was pretty quiet! Location is great. Staff was helpful when needed! Negative: The room was a bit dirty, mostly small things like the window sill and bathroom corners. The humidity in the room was pesky. You must keep the AC running at all times. I had turned it off for a bit, and you could feel the dampness in the carpet.

I believe this hotel has switched owners or something. When I checked in I was given a room that had clearly not been cleaned as the bed had been slept in. The second room was at least clean. The guy at the desk never made eye contact and kept talking to me with his back turned.

We were in room 118 and the room itself was ok but the heating and cooling system was very noisy and needs to be replaced and the noise level from the rooms around us were unacceptable and we got almost no sleep. The continental breakfast was way below the Choice hotel standard so we checked out and went to MacDonald’s. We will not be staying there again.

Our room smelled like mold for one. Secondly I’m highly allergic to mold. My CPAP unit smelled like mold throughout it afterward. I have never had that happen before. Turning on the AC helped tame it down, but it was still in the room coming from somewhere. Also we had to move the microwave to use it. The plug in was far away from it. Also there wasn’t any hot food except waffles that you had to make, and we didn’t have time for that.
