Econo Lodge Madison East

Good location; has microwave and refrigerator; room is relatively clean. The place is somewhat rundown and the TV is like 20 years old, which I don't mind much. My biggest problem is its smell. The room and the hallway have the "moldy" smell of old places throughout. I bore the night and left as soon as the morning.

I was worried because I had seen some negative reviews of this hotel, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and comfortable. It looked like the furniture was well maintained. The staff was very friendly. I couldn't believe I got such a great stay for such a low price. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to any traveler visiting Madison.

Good experience with my stay here to catch a football game at Wisconsin. It is located close to restaurants and shopping. You can walk to them. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is secure with its key access to all its wings. The reception staff were pretty friendly. The rooms were clean and fresh linens were provided every. Prices are reasonable. Located on top of a hill and close to I-190. Easy access to downtown.

Have stayed here twice and may try one more time and only for the price. It is quiet too. Cleanliness is still suffering. AC filter again was disgusting, clogged with dust and whatever others let fly in the room. Shower cap from who knows who was left behind the refrigerator as well as leftover food that STUNK!!! in the refrigerator. Who doesn't look around when they clean a room?

Check in staff were very pleasant and friendly. The other building had a non-working front entrance and entering from the back side was a bit scary with the dogs and trucks parked back there. Also the hallways were dimly lit and carpets looked dirty. Our room on the other hand was very clean. When the air conditioner is updated to a quieter unit that will be a great improvement.
