I liked location of hotel and view from parking lot is beautiful. Our room window also faced the woods which was nice. I felt that the rooms could be a bit more clean. There were hairs in our shower and on the floor next the shower. Also, a lot of dust behind the tv and on top of the bed frames. Not sure if the rooms were inspected after “cleaning”.
My review is great based on the experience I had with your guy at the desk. Forgive me. I forgot his name. He was welcoming, friendly, kind, and it was not forced. He loved interacting and being helpful. He made the experience. Had it not been for him, this would be a 1. He really seemed to love his job and putting up with my needy tourist questions. Breakfast was dry cereal, a loaf of bread, dry cereal and sadness. No phones in the rooms-wow. So much grout on tub looked gross. Wires stretched everywhere to make TV work. Vending machines didn't work. It did seem very clean though. You can do better. Potential. Keep the night guy. He rocks. Give him a promotion or raise. He cares.
Positive: Great location, friendly and attentive staff. Solid free breakfast for the price of the room. Best Cheap hotel I've ever stayed in. Negative: ""
We chose this hotel because it allowed dogs and was the most affordable option in Marquette at the time we booked. We had a pleasant stay, definitely a no-frills kind of place, but was clean enough and a comfortable place to sleep. My only complaints are that we booked and paid for queen beds and were given fulls (which might not seem like a big deal until you try to fit a large dog in the same bed as 2 people, those extra inches really matter lol), and that the door from the lobby to the hallway is heavy and a twist-knob to pull open, which is nearly impossible to use if you have anything in your hands. I wish they had at least propped the door open during breakfast hours. (I also worry this becomes an accessibility concern if you have limited use of your upper extremities). The breakfast
Lost heat, lost power, which is okay, the big thing is someone was smoking cannabis in the room nearest me, I have severe respiratory issues from a combat related injury during my tour in Iraq. I explained this concern to the front desk manager and she said ppl smoke outside and come in smelling like it and that she might know who it is and will take care of it. I tried explaining that it was actually being done inside but she kept dismissing it so I decided to wait and explain here. Also I drove 1700 miles to provide assistance during this historical winter event as I am in school for MET and a professional storm chaser/EMT. I do use hotels during my travels quite often but I will not be using this company ever again.
