Easter Egg Valley Motel

I’ve now stayed here on my 40th and 50th birthday adventures and they are the best. Come for local flavor, far out service, clean rooms, cozy spaces but stay for the most beautiful Labyrinth in the Big Bend! We woke to hazy ancient Chisos Mountain glow right outside our doorstep. THIS is the closest place to lay your head from the National Park. We’ll be back for my 60th, Lord willing!

This little motel is interesting. The rooms are decent. They're drafty in the wintertime, but it wasn't top bad. The beds are a bit hard, but we survived. There's a regular sized fridge and stove, and there are plenty of dishes, so that's good. The showers are OK, but the water is hot, which made up for the odd faucet head. The views are nice. Overall, it's a nice location, and I had a lovely time.

Was able to find availability same day (our Airbnb was double booked for the weekend, so I had to scramble to find something last minute) and they were happy to accommodate. Stayed at one of the bigger cliff dwelling cabins and it’s perfect. Room is clean, kitchen is nice, water is hot and the AC unit in the bedroom blows cold air. The bedroom bed is comfy too. Great cabin and way better than what I was getting at the room by the hotel not far away.

We stayed at East Egg Valley motel on two separate nights as walk-ins between hikes. This was during peak season/Spring Break and we were very happy that they had vacancy since virtually everything else was booked up. Jenny at the front desk was really courteous and great to work with! This is not a high end hotel but the rooms are clean and quaint... even retro; perfectly matched to the big bend surroundings and Terlingua. The beds are comfortable, especially after a long hike. I've stayed here before and I'll stay here again.

Beautiful spot in the desert surrounded by mountains. Great for hiking, motorcycle crossroads.
