Dunes Suites

Just finished a weekend trip at the end of Sept and really enjoyed our stay. Make sure you book the ocean front suites though...the other building that is part of the property didn't look nearly as nice and I suspect some of the bad reviews are from those rooms. The view was amazing and direct access to the beach and boardwalk. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean and smelled fresh. We were able to turn the temp way down at night to keep it cool for sleeping. Kitchen area was great with a large fridge. Bathroom was really small, but manageable, especially with the sink in kitchen area. Plenty of silverware and cups, but limited plates and bowls. Stove top and microwave, but no oven. The view was spectacular! Very clean room, housekeeping was on top of things, and you are within walking distance to pretty much everything you could need/want. |Hotel staff was very friendly, we realized our tv in the room wasn’t working and within minutes they had maintenance there putting a new tv up. The front desk staff were extremely helpful, kind and welcoming. We will definitely be coming to stay again.

When we checked in, we were disappointed to find that the "ocean front" room we booked was not actually ocean front—it overlooked a large dune, a cell phone tower, and had a bright streetlight shining directly into the window. We asked the front desk if there was another room available, and they moved us to the other side of the building. While this second room did have a proper ocean view, the cleanliness was below expectations. There was hair on the shower curtain, toilet paper stuffed in the peephole of the door, sticky and sandy carpet, and a kitchen tile floor that clearly needed a deep clean, with visible residue from years of use. This is a motel which I was unaware of at the time of booking. You have to check in at the dunes court and then make your way to the suites. It does appear they have made some upgrades to the room but they are still quite outdated. The bathroom door would not close and the sink in the bathroom was very small and shallow. The tub and tiling were good however the shower head needs replaced. The sofa had a tear and they stiched it up with different color thread. At 1st glance I thought it was stained. They balcony was very nice but being on floor 2 had somewhat of an obstructed view of the ocean. There is no way to block out the light from outside even with the blinds closed. The walls are paper thin so you can hear guests above below and next to you including outside. The kitchenette is ok

My sister and I are both caregivers and we come to OC every fall to rest and recoup. This was by far the worst establishment that we have every stayed in and we have stayed in condo’s and hotels all throughout Ocean City and all of them have been ocean front. But this hotel was terribly outdated. The pictures online had to have been taken decades ago. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and all the bed pillows were useless for any kind of support or comfort!! We never do maid service because we just want to be left alone, so we can destress but any interaction we’ve had with any of the housekeeping staff was professional and pleasant….so no complaints there. Please note that check-in is at the Dune Court, not at the Dune Suites and this info is not stated anywhere on their site…so check-
