DoubleTree by Hilton Stamford

I stayed here a few weeks ago and it was very nice. Some parts of the hotel are certainly starting to show their age, but my experience was overall quite positive. The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I stepped through the door. One morning, I was frantically trying to get breakfast before a meeting and Ioana B was sooo helpful, it really made my day. She was cheerful and courteous and got me on my way with a delightfully full belly. I am appreciative of her and the other wonderful staff people at this location.

I stay primarily at Hilton properties. In the end it's all about comfort and service. Yes the bed is comfortable and the rooms are clean. The restaurant staff though is extremely dedicated. No visit is mundane with them. The attention to customers is unmatched. I enjoy a good breakfast and they always deliver. Want to point out one in particular, Ramdas. He is the best at service.

We stayed here because of a room block for an ice-skating competition, and unfortunately, we will never stay here again. The entire experience was extremely disappointing. The service, lobby, and rooms all felt outdated and in serious need of a full remodel.||Our room was spacious, but that was the only positive. The wallpaper was peeling, the carpet was dirty, and there were scuff marks all over the walls. The fridge made constant noise, and the bathroom was in awful condition. The whole room looked neglected and poorly maintained.||The breakfast buffet was another disappointment very expensive for two adults and two kids, with nothing special offered. It was just a basic breakfast and server wasn't attentive.||Service wasn’t much better. The morning valet was rude and acted annoyed whene

Positive: The staff was nice. Negative: The hotel was very dirty. We found uncleaned, personal used items in our room. We moved to a clean room, but in the morning found dried up chicken bones and other items in one of the coffee rooms in the lobby.

All in all this is a great option in the Stamford area. I was there for 4 nights for business and was quite comfortable. I was able to be upgraded to a suite which was a very pleasant surprise The room was dated but clean and comfortable. Many of the charger outlets were not working or too loose to hold a charger. It was fine but should be noted. The common areas need a big refresh. The hallway carpets are torn and dirty, the elevators had a very bad smell, the paint was in need of a patch job/re-do. It’s a giant space with conference and ball rooms, I’m not sure how much of this is used (seemed not while I was there but that was during mid-week). I did not use any restaurant option but appreciate with common use microwaves and work areas. The staff as excellent, friendly, interested and k
