Amsterdam Hotel

We’ve now stayed at the Amsterdam Hotel twice, and the main reason we keep coming back is the staff. They’re genuinely great, and during our stay last year they unexpectedly refunded us for a night when we decided to leave early due to weather conditions. That level of customer service left a strong impression and is a big reason we returned this year. The location also works very well for us. The Metro-North station is less than a mile away—very walkable in warmer weather—and during colder months there’s a nearby parking garage with $10 daily parking. From a convenience standpoint, it’s almost perfect. So why the 2-star rating? Simply put, the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. The staff here were all super nice. Room was clean except for some minor details plenty of parking garage can be a bit scary to access the first time but it is very well maintained it seems. Breakfast was simple but tasty.

It's obvious this building has seen better days, but it is clean, well maintained, and there is plenty of free parking. Fridge & microwave in rooms. Staff is awesome; very friendly and informative. Great location and reasonable priced hotel if you're road tripping up & down the east coast. Free continental breakfast & wifi!

Positive: Super Clean, good location, everything worked: fridge, microwave, HVAC, shower, lights, TV, elevator, doors, locks, breakfast room.Pleasant, efficient staff.Affordable! Negative: The 2nd elevator seems permanently out of service. The new elevator works well, but is small and leads to wait times.The one-queen rooms are closest to I-95, thus noisy. Recommend the 2-queen rooms on the back side of the hotel.

Very friendly staff, spotless and spacious room. In fact, a huge room! Very clean and well maintained common areas. It’s obviously not a brand-new property, but for the price and location (including free parking) I’m very satisfied. Solid building with no noise issues room-to-room. Continental breakfast (also free) provides plenty of options and the coffee was excellent. Tip: Unfortunately there is a lot of traffic noise from East Main St so if that might bother you, ask for a room on the opposite side of the building.
