Destin Condo at Pelican Beach

We come to Destin every year. We have never seen a policy where we could NOT put our personal chairs at the waters edge and enjoy the beach. Pelican has security at the beach making sure all chairs are back behind their chairs (that can be rented for $50 a day, when they’re available). Sitting our chairs at the waters edge is what we do, that’s what we come for! We will NEVER be back and we will read all the small print before renting our condos in the future.

The dishes had soda splashed on them. My baby had black feet from crawling in the room. We went to the beach and the sign says “no coolers, personal beach chairs, or personal umbrellas” between the water and the condos chairs and umbrellas for rent. We had a towel with a baby on it by the water and security came up and asked if we rented a chair and said we needed one to sit there. We went to rent one and the guy at the chair rental place said I’m not going to take your money. You can use the beach. The security guard came back and harassed us again saying we needed to rent a chair. He went and talked to the guy that rents chairs then came back to us and said he has had multiple complaints about us but he would let it slide. But if more people come it would be a different story. Condo was very well kept, what kinda ruined the vacation mood was the way some of the staff looked at us. That look of “you don’t belong here” Maybe it’s a Destin thing , who knows. Beach was beautiful but kinda restricted in the good spots to set up. Next time we will visit the beautiful beaches back home

Everything was nice and clean. Convenient to the beach.
