Desert Sands (AKA THE SANDS)

Terrible! First of all the inside of the rooms has an old foul smell. Bathrooms aren’t as nice & the toilet didn’t even flush. On top of that our bed was infested with BEDBUGS! I’ve never experienced getting bitten like this at all. Needs to be shut down. 0/10 & would not recommend to anyone in the area.

For starters, this place just looks like a crackhouse. Its dirty and run down but being late, and not traveling alone, I thought it would be ok for the 23.99 listed on the huge sign, for a couple of nights.||Immediatley on entering we are greeted by a bill of 85.00 for 2 nights. Definately NOT 23.99 per night... "Sign is old" is the only explaination. Not even the typical "oh all the cheap rooms are taken." But alas, its late. ||Upon entering the room I was horrified by bugs, cigarette burns in everything, a box of dollar store hair color strewn about, holes in the walls and many other horrendous sights. Uhg. So I drop my bags and go to the restroom to handle a little business and thats it! Mold, missing tiles, dried toothpaste, feces stains, no toilet tissue. ||We take our bags and head t

This place has changed hands many times, been under remodel for at least 40 years of my life, but still survives. The owners right now promptly address any of your concerns, and I would assume happily refund your purchase, don't quote me on that, I've never had the reason to ask. Yes it's old but not nasty. I've never lost a minute of sleep there. Think about how many people might have been in that pink caddilac , nights kingdom, or whatever, the Desert Sands is old, but, it's all about what your ready to spend overnight. The Desert Sands is worthy of the price for sure, To each his own!

I wouldn’t even give them one star but it made me select one…. I Called to inquire about weekly rates for this motel. They only accept cash which is fine. But the man in the phone became VERY aggressive when I told him I have FEDERALLY REGISTERED SERVICE ANIMALS !!!! Told me it his property and he can do as he wishes and dared me to call the government.!!!! They even have their google reviews turned off so people cant leave reviews. I would not recommend this place to anyone…..

Small, ancient , outdated in all areas, dirty unpleasant and not even affordable no tell motel. Every derilic in town doesn't even have anything good to say. Management watches bout every moment! They DO NOT allow guests to have ANY visitors at all. I was so offended when my son came to bring my suitcase to me and the office called to tell me that my guest had to leave after only 3 mins. I only stayed because I was stranded after my car was stolen. I felt like I was doing time on Maple Dr( title of a movie) they need to get serious pest control up in there as well as a true cleaning service!
