Desert Mountain Cabin

Absolutely love this place. Been here twice now and can't think of a better place to stay at. Its the perfect location. Just far enough to feel the solitude of the area but close enough to make it to Terlingua or Big Bend in a short and very enjoyable ride. Penni was an excellent host. Will definitely go back.

This is my most favorite place in the entire world. As a matter of fact, my father and grandfather built that cabin. The wood was from a burned down church that was reclaimed and used to build it. I essentially was raised there. My father was a geology student at Sul Ross, and I stayed with him in that cabin during the summers while he did his thesis. I miss it dearly!!!

This is a beautiful cabin! All of the amenities are here such as satellite TV, running water and electricity (some places out here have solar only), plus a w/d. You have plenty of peace and quiet all by yourself while you watch the sunset sitting near the firepit!
