Desert Aura

Beautiful place! A/C worked awesome! Outside was well over 100° but inside was maintained around 75 and was comfortable. Really good size space for a great price, wrap around porch. Private entry gate that makes it feel like you're living in a castle. Kid-friendly (10 yr old), loved seeing all the wildlife - rabbits, deer, jackrabbits, lizards, birds, the list goes on. The host was very responsive, and let us check in about an hour early. I was able to work remotely, have my zoom meetings, and still enjoy the mountains! The biggest highlight is the separate guest house. We plan on going back. The stars were outstanding too. Also the Terlingua Ranch lodge is super close, so you can go have a beer and food at the Bad Rabbit Cafe. SOME PEOPLE may have complained about the road to get to the

This is a beautiful house (and Casita) that feels like you're miles away from the rest of the world, while actually being just down the road from the lodge office and cafe (and pool). I go with a friend, and it's great for us to each have our own space and privacy - while being able to meet up on the patio to watch the stars while sipping our drinks. The main house has a full kitchen and there's a grill outside, but I don't go on vacation to cook, so I have no real opinion of those - the fridge/freezer are plenty large for the sandwich fixings and drinks, and it was nice to have access to ice trays. You will need to drive a couple of miles on a dirt road, but it's well maintained (though sometimes a bit washboard - the best dirt road gets this way) and shouldn't be an issue for just about

Horrible experience. You will need a 4x4 to get to the home which they say is a maintained road. There is no covered parking. The place is infested with mothes. The owner said he would reimburse us since he lied about the maintained road and then never did.

Cannot explain enough how awesome this place is
