Deer Ridge Lodge

We didn't realize how basic, almost primitive it was. No TV in the room, or anywhere in the lodge. Hardly any tables to set your things. The staff here are very helpful, friendly & accommodating! There are lots of things to do, especially for kids. The view is amazing! Just be prepared for basic!

No locks on the main doors of the building, so anyone could access the building. No deadbolts on the doors of the individual rooms. The rooms are very basic. Queen bed, 2 bunk beds, and a table with 1 chair. Water was just bearable for showers. Almost cold. Hope you don't plan on any socializing in your room or the building itself. On the website when making reservations, they made it sound like a mini fridge and balconies in the rooms. Not in the building they assigned us to. Lots of activities but we came up in the winter so that was a challenge but expected. Summer for activities would be a lot more fun. Maybe we will try back in the summer. Not very impressed this time around.

The views are spectacular all the way around, hikes etc. We stayed at Deer Ridge! First place I come, and have to make my own bed. The room had two bunk beds, and they just left you the sheets on top of the bed..for you to make!! 6168 may need to change the shower curtain it's really dirty. The buffet is horrible. I got a really bad stomachache. This food is the worst. The only thing I ate was the fruit, and salad. Employees were nice though.

A huge disappointment. Musty mildew smell when we entered the building. Very expensive for what you got. They market that 200 per night for what amounts to a summer camp dorm room with a queen bed and 2 bunk beds, a tiny shower toilet closet and a sink in the room with a single shelf, no air conditioning and the thinnest wood floors that amplified every sound and foot step from the rooms above you included meals. Ok well the meals, when they didn't run out of the main course or meat, coffee, milk, or plastic cups was cafeteria food served buffet style and was so crowded you were moved through like cattle. The food was average at best. You can't sleep because of the noise and the wooden floors echoing all the people letting their kids run and jump around until midnight and then back

There is no maid service or linen service in this Lodge. I'm ok without the maid service but the lack of fresh towels has been a huge pain. We have to lug wet towels to the laundry room in another building and exchange them for fresh towels every day. There appears to be a large container in our Lodge that is meant for wet towels but someone keeps putting recycling in it so we can't use it for used linens. We've called for fresh linens and they have brought them to us but we were still stuck with the old, wet linens. They could definitely improve this process by just letting me drop off and pick up linens in the lobby of my building instead of one far away. The mattresses should have been replaced a long time ago. We had to flip ours due to the huge sag on one side. There are no dres
