Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cedar Rapids

We had booked this hotel for our boys team state baseball tournament. Overall good hotel, boys loved the pool. Breakfast was good. Waffles were the best part. Carpet looks newer. Just a couple things in our room 317-there was a sticky spot on carpet in between the 2 double beds that I kept forgetting about until I stepped in it. The room itself was clean and the bedspreads and room itself was updated to look more modern from the not so appeasing hotel pics I saw online. The canvas paintings above the bed were beautiful and modern. The bathroom doesn't have a vent & is smaller. The tub wasn't overly clean. Almost seems like the maintenance rolled a type of white paint over the floor of the tub that is starting to fade. The shower curtain had a few spots on it--but I've never been a fan of

I have some safety concerns about the Days Inn hotel located on Blairs Ferry Road in Cedar Rapids. I stayed there last night. I checked in late, about 12:30AM. Handed my license to the front desk person and got my room key. She had a hard time finding me in the system and I explained to her that I did book on Expedia and paid online earlier in the week. I got settled in my room and about 1:30-1:45AM, I hear voices outside of my door. I then heard a key card click on my door and the door flew open. I had the safety latch so the door stopped because of that. I immediately tried to call the front desk from the room phone, which did not work. It did not have a dial tone. I had to look up the number for the hotel and call from my cell. Finally I got ahold of the front desk and asked

Seriously, just don’t! I don’t even know where to begin. My room had no TP upon check-in and the toilet seat was broken. Lol. Lots of sketchy people stay here and the hotel takes absolutely no pride in keeping this property clean or functional. The elevator even had rib bones in it. I can’t make this up my experience was so bad. The ONLY reason to stay here is if you literally can’t afford anything nicer. I checked out after two hours upon my arrival given the issues. Stayed at the Marriott next which was awesome!!

The room was dirty, the property needs a lot of work and upgrading. I couldn't find the toilet paper and our "suite" is built for people my size (5'2") not the average person. There's no closet. I have pictures. To make things even worse, there were people running up and down the hall yelling and playing ball. They ran into walls and doors. Great night sleep, NOT.

Our stay at Days Inn and Suites Cedar Rapids was wonderful. The front desk receptionists were so kind and helpful and the manger was a really friendly guy that stopped to tell us goodbye on the way out. As a past housekeeper I would say our room was very clean. Great location to as it’s right by an awesome Mexican restaurant. If you are looking for a quality experience whether your traveling for work or leisure this days inn is perfect!
