Days Inn by Wyndham St Augustine/Historic Downtown

When first arriving, the staff was not friendly. We were an hour early and just trying to see if our room was ready. The lady would not even check, she just kept saying check in was at 3. When we finally got to our room, it was late. The parking was dark and sketchy. The outside of the hotel wasn’t horrible and neither was the inside of our room. Just a few things happened in the room as we were staying there. The faucet under the sink would spray water onto the floor and your feet while it was on, the tub faucet also leaked, our coffee maker was completely broken where water poured out the bottom, there was something sticky on our sink faucet when we first arrived, the air and hair dryer plugs had to be reset or they didn’t work, and there were small roaches at night in our bathroom. Good afternoon, I would like to notify the manager or owner, please keep your rooms clean, if they are not clean don’t rent them. First when we arrived there was no receptionist to attend us; we waited 10 minutes and she came out from the back. No mention of sorry or thank you for waiting, second she asked for my ID, then complete silence. While waiting she called another employee and asked is room 207 ready because that is the only clean room in the system, I was there to check in at 8:00 p.m. she gave us the key and I asked her where is the ice machine, she told us in between room number 225 to 227 which is 2 hallway down and it was out of order. Hello, I hope everyone is doing very well 🙏🏻 Our experience has been magnificent and unmatched. We sincerely appreciate all the attention provided. We will definitely return. There are many positive aspects we could highlight 🙏🏻 The room was impeccably clean. The beds were not only very clean but also extremely comfortable. The air conditioning was excellent. All the conditions in the room were perfect. The hot and cold water service worked properly, accommodating each person’s preferences. Privacy was excellent. Everything was perfect. Thank you very much. We sincerely congratulate you on your excellence.

Positive: This hotel had availability during the Christmas flight nights in St Augustine when all other hotels were either booked or extremely highly priced. Negative: Check-in was at 3 o’clock, we got there around 1PM and were told it might be within an hour. Then she kept telling everyone to come back at 2:30. So at 2:30 there were about 15 people in line with only one person working the reception desk.

I stayed one night at this hotel with my family and paid $170, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Late at night we discovered roaches in our room. When I reported this to the front desk and asked if we could receive a discount, the staff member simply said she would “leave a note for the manager.” There was no apology, no concern, and based on her reaction it seemed like this wasn’t the first time they’d heard this complaint. I had to ask the front desk for their email so I can email the hotel with a photo of the roach, and the response I received was even worse. The general manager, Nempha, claimed they could “guarantee” there were no insects in the rooms because of routine pest control—despite the clear photo I sent and multiple recent reviews from other guests reporting th
