Days Inn by Wyndham Gainesville

Well, again this is why I ONLY stay at the DAYS INN when possible (100%) of the time great location Burger King rite next door, room smells clean front counter 100 % customer service, pillows great, clean towels, hot shower fridge, microwave were clean, comfortable BED. HOTSHOT PARKING AVAILABILITY. GREAT JOB GUYS. SEE YOU AGAIN .

Worst hotel experience EVER! We booked a two night stay to visit nearby Muenster. We didn't arrive at the hotel until 7 PM, only to find they had cancelled out reservation. The stated reason was that it was "the busy season" even though the hotel was barely a third full. Since we still needed a place to stay, I asked for my original reservation to be reinstated. The price were charged was well over the nightly rate and considerably higher than our "member rate". (We are black members of the hotel chain which gives us a significant discount on our stays.) I explained the situation to the clerk on duty who called the manager, Mac, whom refused to allow our previously discounted rate. We were told to come to the front office the next day to speak with Mac. Being tired after a day of traveling

We waited too late to get a room close to Windstar Casino for the concert we were going to and Days Inn had one of the few reservations left. I thought it might be pretty bad but it was very clean and the beds were good. When we first arrived our smoke alarm was beeping like it needed new batteries and they came immediately and fixed it. The staff were kind and helpful and the hotel is within walking distance of Waffle House (open 24 hours) and Burger King. The room heater was good and it had a good tv, microwave and fridge. We did not make it to the breakfast that ends at 9:00. It should end much later. The price was jacked high because of the concert and overly priced for this room, but all in all we were happy to get it and stay there.

Very pleasantly surprised. I looked up the reviews before I booked my room. I should say I'm also a Diamond member with Wyndham and have been for probably 6 years. I did use points for the room. The room was very clean and fresh. The owners take very good care of the property. I had been on the road for several days and was extremely tired. Needless to say I wasn't in a great mood. The owner went out of his way to provide me with excellent customer service. The bed in the room was very comfortable. The shower was awesome. When I checked out the next morning I made it a point to apologize to the owner due to my less than stellar mood when I checked in. I made a point to tell him how much I appreciated him taking good care of me and helping me to relax. I would recommend this place to anyone

Positive: Staff was very friendly while checking in. Negative: The floors were very dirty all over. When we woke up we saw a couple cockroaches crawling on the walls near the sink. If we had seen this at check-in we would not have stayed in this room.
