Days Inn by Wyndham Dover Downtown

I have looked at plenty Wyndham hotel reviews to know to stay away from them, actually staying in them...IS NOT THAT BAD!!! This particular Days Inn is one of the worst Days Inns I’ve seen based on the reviews, but it’s actually not that bad. There were some sketchy people around the property, but they are really nice. I got into a conversation with one of them about how gas prices are ridiculous. The room was old and worn, but you got to go softly at Wyndham properties. Staff was pleasant, the amenities were great. The place didn’t serve breakfast, but it’s a smaller hotel, so it made sense. Plus, there’s a Dunkin’ Donuts down the street. A small, little hotel that gets neglected badly. This place is not bad at all.

I was expecting a less seedy looking establishment. We got there at night time and the check in process went smooth. The outside lighting wasn't to great. We were given our room keys and when we got to our room I couldn't open the door. I scanned the card about 6 times and each time the handle would turn but the door wouldn't open. I started to get an uneasy feeling. I felt like for what ever reason I couldn't open the door i took as a sign that i should leave. I got back in the car and went down the street to stay at a different hotel. Yeah I lost out on the points that I used for the room but my instinct was telling me to leave right then and there. We checked in to our room at Bally and then proceeded to go back to the days inn to return the key and no one was at the front desk. Afte

Positive: Nothing Negative: I filed a claim against this hotel for a refund or credit. It was the worse stay I ever experienced in a hotel.

Although the bed was comfortable, it was the smallest queen size ever. The laminate flooring was sticky with nail heads sticking up in places. Wires stuck out of the wall where a smoke detector had been and the front of the nightstand drawer was ripped off. The sink backed up with ramen noodles floating up from a previous occupant. The TV was on when we checked in. We turned it off to go to dinner. When we came back, the only channel available was a Humana Medicare Advantage infomercial. The front desk said they would send someone, but the matter was not resolved over our 2 night stay. The free Wifi worked but while trying to stream a movie from my computer to the TV, there were 9 bright spots interfering with the image.

The check-in process was smooth, and everyone was friendly, polite, and always ready to help. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The bed was extremely comfortable.
