Days Inn by Wyndham Bay City

I just have to say, this motel was such a charming trip back in time! It had that fun retro vibe from the 80s, and I loved it! The wooden carved door was absolutely stunning! When I checked in, Juan at the front desk was super friendly and really accommodating. He went above and beyond, giving me all sorts of helpful info, like where to find the ice machine, what time breakfast starts, and whether it was included. Plus, the price was fantastic! The rooms were clean and really spacious for what I paid. I’m definitely planning to come back!

There were bed bugs in several of our girls power lifting team members rooms. My daughter's room the a/c stunk and burned their eyes. The whole team bought cleaning supplies and scrubbed everything down. In my room there was hairy old crusty soap in the shower. The complimentary products were half used. The a/c filters were black. My sheets and some of the girls had stains on them. One of the girls was laying in bed half asleep and her bed broke, flipping her out and on to the floor. The night time clerk was very unfriendly when notified about the various problems and rude about having to switch rooms so many times. If our school could have been reached we would have left, but I won't be back.

Positive: The room looked pretty good. We had some problems with the TV but nothing major. Negative: The outside of the hotel, from the parking lot to the steps, building, and doors, it looks old and not taken care of.

Nice room, bed was comfortable, 4 large pillows! The only thing was the a/c unit sung all the time; whether it was on or off. Hot shower, clean linen! The breakfast was the icing just wish they had a few more options like boiled eggs and oatmeal

I initially was going to book my room through Booking.com. I called the hotel because I had a few questions. The guy was nice and told me he would price match Booking.com. I went ahead and booked the room. BIG MISTAKE! I booked the room for a friend coming to visit and she was unable to make it. I called the hotel to let them know and assumed everything was okay. Well here I am a month or 2 later and my card being charged a cancelation fee. Had I went through Booking.com, there would have been no cancelation fee and to charge my card a month or 2 later doesn't sound very legit. Also, if their desk agent is willing to tell potential customers they price match, they need to tell customers that there is a cancelation fee which will be charged to their cards MONTHS later.
