Curly Redwood Lodge

Amazing! We checked in late and had a lovely check in experience witha personable woman who was explaining she always puts up the sign with her # after 11pm in case she misses the doorbell. The room and whole property is built with beautiful original redwood, there's an awesome story online. The room is equipped withthoughtful touches that go with the theme and era of the mid century style. Physical key for the room is an awesome change from key cards. Yummy kuerig Costco cups. Beautiful custom built bathroom and good shower pressure!

Absolutely my favorite hotel in the United States. I try to go here once a year such an amazing historical landmark. The family that runs his hotel is also so gracious and wonderful. They keep the place absolutely tiptop clean. It's very quiet and remote. They don't allow pets so it's you're never going to be woken up by your neighbors dog barking. The architecture to this building is absolutely fantastic. The views are fantastic, and the rooms have been very carefully preserved to their original charm, this is a hotel for somebody that can appreciate an old school drive up 50s hotel with fantastic aesthetics, I dream of the next time I can come visit this fantastic landmark.

Very well updated classic motel. I was very impressed with how clean and well-maintained it was for having such a vintage feel. I seriously felt like I was in a different time period stepping into my room. The redwood paneling was really beautiful. Not dark and dreary as it looked in some photos. Front desk staff was super helpful and gracious even when I arrived late (11:20 PM). The only downside was that the old heating system and the thin walls both made for a somewhat noisy night. Luckily I brought earplugs, after which I no longer heard my neighbors' sneezes. Overall, I definitely recommend this place. It's clear that the owners take pride in it and care about guests' experience. It's conveniently just off the 101, but not so close that you can hear any road noise.

Funky, but in a good way. The overall design and most of the furnishings are definitely a throwback, and the overall concept with the redwood tree is very unique. My room had a recently redone bathroom, which while very nice (and far better than most comparably-priced motels) was a bit out of sync with the very mid-century vibe of the rest of the room. The mattress also was ready for replacement, and the thermostat was very much a guessing game to find a comfortable temperature. All the linens were clean, though, and the room was overall very comfortable. You do need to be aware when walking from your car to the room that you're going to right one as there is something subconscious that makes you go the neighboring room with how the parking spots are located.
