Courtyard by Marriott Wichita East

Let’s start with why it wasn’t a 5 star. No where on the app did it say was under renovation. If it was I would have definitely found another hotel. The staff was great. Room was great. But being woke up before 8 am when I didn’t get in and to bed till 2am with banging and construction going on, that’s not something you want happen. So if I knew about the construction before booking. It might have been a better experience

Beware: construction will wake you up at 6:30am and no one cares! This entire hotel is gross and outdated. Unkept and unclean. Stains everywhere. TV remotes don’t work, furniture is old. Every room smells like a smoking room. So glad to not come back!

Positive: Had room with 2 queen beds and a balcony. I stay here everything I am in Wichita. Staff are great! Hotel is clean. Negative: Need chairs on balcony. But never a deal breaker for us.

First and foremost I would like to say Thank you to the Marriott hotel industry for employing such people who have simple common courtesy and professionalism. From your housekeeping department to Mr. Lance,Mr. Richard, Ms. Marianne and the Maintenance person. Just so you know we were having a horrible time at another hotel that cost my Daughter twice the price and we received much less including a room that hadn't been cleaned. Once we showed the picture to the desk clerk about our concerns moments later we were on our way to the Marriott Courtyard. The employees pretty much made up the mistakes that were made at the other Hotel with courtesy and professionalism which made our stay more relaxing and enjoyable.|Thank you Marriott hotel Industry you are appreciated.

I was not going to stay at this property. We arrived late and we discovered they are starting a major renovation. I have stayed in dozens of Marriott properties over the years no issues. The last 2 locations I booked were doing major renovations. I received no notice either time. Marriott and Bonvoy might be losing their ability to service their loyal guests. My wife and I were all set to leave to the new Aloft in Wichita. Two long time employees Ledona & Judy went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Yes the property needs some love , but that is temporary. The kindness and caring they showed us was Wonderful. I hope that Big wigs in Corporate do something nice for these employees, because I think Growth and profits are getting in the way of good old Marriott Service.
