Courtyard by Marriott Columbus Phenix City/Riverfront

I’ve always enjoyed staying at Marriott hotels, but this Courtyard by Marriott needs improvement when it comes to meeting guest needs. Charging guests for parking feels like unnecessary money‑grabbing. I could overlook that, but not having a microwave in the room is unbelievable. I’ve never stayed in a hotel room without one. It almost feels like they expect guests to buy food from the restaurant downstairs, which is a big turn‑off. The room I stayed in also wasn’t properly cleaned, and the remodel lacked attention to detail. There were old, rusty vents in what’s supposed to be a newly updated room. The hotel does have one major win: the front desk representative. She was incredibly kind and truly the highlight of my stay.

The staff is accommodating. Renee was helpful.|The room: basic, nice. |The view of the river was great through the one window that you could look out of. The other window was disgusting. It was all white and cloudy, at best. It ruined the view. It should be replaced.|The AIr Conditioning controls on the wall do not control the room air. You have to use the unit controls on the floor. The wall device should be removed or made to control the floor unit.|The shower has no door. So, whatever side is not under the water stays cold. The shower head is hard to reach gor adjustment if you are a shorter person.|The shower knob, on the opposite wall, was not secured to the wall. I went here for a company function and it was really nice. Staff was friendly, the hotel was clean and the space was huge!Glad we booked our event here!

We love those Marriott location and will definitely return. The outdoor common area is beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed the fire pit morning and night....coffee in the morning and wine at night. The pool was gorgeous to look at but too cold to get in at the time of our stay but we enjoyed looking at it and enjoyed the sound of the fountains. The view of the river was amazing and we were able to watch some kayakers go down the river which was big fun for us. The staff were great, front desk folks even danced a little with us laughingly. The maintenance guy was extremely nice, even let us borrow a tool we needed. The outdoor space was really clean and beautifully kept. The housekeeping gals were wonderful as well. It’sa very nice place and we’ll definitely be back.

I am currently staying in Room 322. It is 23 August, 2025. I can let a few things go, but things keep adding up. I understand the renovations, but the pool is disgusting. other people may not realize it, but there is mold growing along the edges of the seating area INSIDE the pool. There is mold growing on the side tiles of the pool that looks like bird poop. The edges outside of the pool have crusty, gross debris that needs to be scrubbed. The pool has been cloudy the last 2 days. This means that the chemicals in the pool are imbalanced. This is a health issue! The left window in our room is disgusting as well. There is no way to see through it. The beautiful view that should be seen through it is lost to the murky glass. It needs to be replaced. The toilet in the room leaks in the back.
