Continental Inn

This is an older "mom and pop" style motel. But it was exactly what I needed for the weekend. Very clean, well lit and surprisingly quiet. Great location! The staff was super friendly, kind and helpful. I had an issue with the thermostat and the man came in less than 5 minutes to fix it. I felt safe and comfortable here. Only giving 4 stars and not 5 because although super clean it is old and a bit derelict.

It's tough finding affordable lodging this time of year anywhere near Mackinac Island, but Continental Inn is good enough.||The good: Breakfast! Juice and water in the fridge, along with one of those make-your-own-waffle machines. Plenty of coffee to go around too. The breakfast room appears to have been recently redone. The room was clean, the TV worked, the A/C worked (but only cools the back bedroom). Everything else worked as expected (like the shower).||The bad: The pool looks nice but wasn't open due to maintenance issues for the whole stay. There's no elevator to rooms on the second floor.||Neither good nor bad: Cheboygan is pretty clearly a working town, and I suspect that some of the people staying here are here for the long-term, working close by. From check in to check out, staying at the Continental Inn was a very nice experience. The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable, breakfast was just fine. The location was great for walking to the river, the lake and downtown. I will definitely consider coming back.

Absolutely charming, way better than we expected at this price point, incredible value! Clean, visually appealing, lots of storage space, like a small lodge type room. We loved it! Breakfast was fine, waffles. Very friendly and inviting owners.

We were there yesterday. The motel is being upgraded but there are many rooms available. The owner is very nice and accommodating. Yes, it’s an older motel, but it is one of the cleanest places to stay. The king size bed was very comfortable We stayed on the first floor so we wouldn’t have to walk the stairs as we brought our little dog. Easier for all the times needed to take her outside. Very quiet at night even though near a main road. Close walk to town. Too cold to check out the outdoor pool. Would definitely stay here again while in the area.
