Commander Beach House Hotel

After reading the reviews online and already paying for the reservations for stay at the beach house, I was very nervous and worried about what the place would be like when we got there. It was just my husband and myself. We stayed the King Deluxe room on the first floor. Yes it was small, but it was perfect for just he and I. We didn’t need or expect much other than a clean place to stay. It was very clean, there was a pleasant clean smell throughout the building, the rockers on the front porch were nice, the price was good, and the staff was friendly. There was an ice machine, soda, and snack machine conveniently available. It was within walking distance to the beach. We enjoyed our stay and will be back! .

Terrible experience. My boyfriend and I were able to come to the beach a day early and the day of booked a room at the Commander beach house for just a night. We arrived at 11 pm after driving 3 1/2 hours after we got off work. Check in is at the Commander hotel on the boardwalk which is across the street from the beach house hotel. Check in went smoothly and we given our room keys. Upon arrival into our room we immediately noticed the room was not clean. There were multiple areas of hair on the sheets, a large stain by the pillows on the sheets, two small brown stains on the other side of the sheets near the pillows, and hair in the shower and bathtub. I immediately reached out to the front desk and they stated that we could be moved to another room at the beach house. The front desk work

The rooms at the Commander Beach House are outrageously small!! Had to crawl into the far side of the bed because the beds were against the wall! The main location seemed nice, so I believe to keep the Commander name reputable they need to tear down the beach house and build something new or do a major renovation and make one room out of two to add space. The reason I am giving two stars is because the staff were excellent and friendly!

Never go there! I got completely bitten by bed bugs — my whole body was itching terribly the next morning. The mattress and bedding were infested with bed bugs. The room was not clean, and the service was terrible. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, and to make things worse, the main office where you pick up the keys is located on a completely different street. This place is a health hazard — avoid at all costs!!!!

This was set like a bed and breakfast without the service. Small rooms and not all of them have bathrooms. Air conditioners are disgusting and we cleaned the filter.
