Comfort Inn & Suites Statesboro - University Area

Pros: - Beds were comfortable and slept well. - The shower had good water pressure and temperature (though it also drained slowly). - Generally polite staff. Cons: - The hotel gym is completely unusable (treadmill, bike, and elliptical were all broken). - Sink in the room would not drain. - Black mold visible in multiple areas in room, along with a persistent damp/musty smell. - ALL ice machines were out of order. - General smell of weed throughout. - Overall maintenance and cleanliness were well below expectations. At this price point, we expected basic upkeep and a clean, healthy environment. The issues here were consistent and noticeable enough that we would not stay again unless improvements are made.

I went here for two days of peace. I booked my room it was paid for. It took me nearly an hour just to get to my room because they kept telling me my payment method did not work. I finally get to my room and the people that had bought a room All around me, obviously chose to sleep in the hall and do their business outside of my door. I did not feel safe and you cannot sleep like that. I called down and asked for another room. The little guy at the desk gave me another room. I reached in my pocket And got sliced on the key somehow. I am not saying that was his fault or anyone’s fault but it happened and I have photos in case I get an infection because the place is dirty. Then the little girl out the front desk calls me at 8 AM wanting another payment method. I thought I had overslept. I had

Positive: Friendly, professional staff! Negative: Our room (119) was damp with a faint funky smell. The room had been upgraded, but not the vacuum unit. It could not handle the moisture. We would not stay there again.

Not up to the standards you would expect from a Comfort Suites. The room was clean however the carpet was frayed where it met with the hardwood flooring. The TV system was wonky and difficult to use. Have never seen a set up like it. The regular coffee dispenser was in-op so an evening cup of coffee was not possible. No regular creamers were available but a bunch of "flavored" creamers were available. Breakfast was just average. The furniture in the lobby /breakfast area was worn and dirty. Must say the staff was friendly.

The whole hotel smelled like mold, the rooms had mold on the curtains and backboard, the lamps were rusted. The outside was covered in black mold. Its dangerous to stay there The staff were wonderful though. Switched our room from a completely moldy 1st floor to a better 2nd floor, but still moldy. Unfortunately all hotels were sold out and we had already paid so we had to stay. The breakfast was decent and reststocked often. Beds were comfortable but due to mold breathing and sleeping was difficult.
