Comfort Inn Dickinson

Called to check on security deposit amount and was told "nothing" but then was told $100 hold when went to check in. Asked right then for a late check-out and the evening staff said noon would be fine, that she'd put a note on the desk/reservation for it. Got to the room and the A/C was on. I changed it to low heat and that was a baaaaaaad decision as the room heated to sweltering. I had to turn the heat completely off and the ac on full blast to cool the room off. This took over an hour. Opening the window did nothing as the room overlooked the pool area and it was also sweltering along with hallways. It was over 80 degrees in the hotel. At 11:02 AM, room got a call from the front desk - "check out is at 11". I told him that the lady last night said noon would be okay; he said 11:30 is

Water park is closed. I tried calling ahead of time to check on water park and dog policy and the phone number listed on the choice app and the google website don’t work. After checking in I asked when the pool closed for the evening and I was informed it wasn’t open. When I asked why I was told it’s because of new management and hasn’t been open for awhile due to little maintenance and it’s unsure when it will open again. We specifically booked our room for the water park and hottub. We stayed in a pet room for an extra $25 a night. My dog smelled around the room for a very long time. It’s clear the additional cleaning isn’t happening. Our door bumper was jammed into the wall when we arrived and some wall paper was missing. The bathtub could use a good scrubbing and new shower curtain. I

The front desk clerk was wonderful but the room was not very clean or well kept. I paid extra fory pets to stay and ended up with a disgusting room because I had pets. I feel like that is the reason you pay extra when you have pets is because of the extra cleaning that may be needed. Mind you I checked in at about 7pm and left at 4am and all my dogs did was curl up and sleep and they were cleaner than the room. I would not hoose to stay here again just to be charged an extra $50 to stay in an uncleanly room just because I have a pet. I have never stayed in a pet room that was so dirty or smelled so bad.

Positive: Staff was very attentive. Hotel employee arranged a pet room for me when initially there were none available. She also was very helpful when my TV didn't work. Good breakfast options. Negative: TV in my first room didn't work. Had to move. Back and side doors can't be opened from outside which is inconvenient. Frif has no freezer compartment

Avoid this place. It’s a dump. Hair all over the pillows and blankets, called ahead before booking to make sure pool and slide were open. Turns out they are under construction after being told they were open. Halls and rooms stink of pot and some other nasty bad odor. Took a quick nap with our hoods on, changed sweaters and headed to the next town since it was a tournament weekend in Dickenson. Nasty.
