Colonial Penn Motel

Yes, this is an old motel, likely from pre-interstate days. Awkward steps into a tiny room, older furnishings and carpet and that old motel smell. The bathroom is adequate, with a painted shut window and not the newest towels. My generation will reminisce over the fact we stayed in places like this as kids when they were due for their first refurbish. Our parents were immigrants and were quite happy with a place like this. Heres why this place is important. The working man's family needs a bargain sometimes. I spent $155 for two rooms on July 4th weekend less than 5 miles from the park with less than a weeks notice. Extremely dirty! I have stayed in many places and this took the award for the most filth & least upkeep. the blinds were broken and hadn't been dusted in I don't know how long. In fact nothing was dusted. You could see thick layers of dust, dirt on everything. I took the bedspread off because even in the nicest of the places they don't get cleaned as often as they should. The sheets looked clean at least. There was an odor when you walked in the door. stains on the carpets. Rust on the bottom of the bathroom sink supports at floor level from water spilling out of the shower is my guess. The bathroom is so tiny the toliet paper gets hidden behind the door when the door is left open as I did cause I was solo. I wanted to relax in teh motel, but i made sure I stayed away until night. I was looking for a cheap place to stay for a week to visit my daughter in Grantville. Cheap is the word! This place was a dump! Room looked ok when I checked it out a few days before renting it. But when I came back, I rented it for a week. BIG MISTAKE!!! The room's only heat source was a space heater. If it got too hot you would have to turn it off because it didn't shut off automatically! Then when it cooked off you had to get back up and turn it on again. Wasn't a fun night sleeping. Then when I went to take a shower.... no hot water! I asked about it. They said turn it on and let it run for about 10 minutes. Reason why is because I was in room 11 and the hot water heater is all the way down in room 1. This place is horrible! The sheets were dirty with hairs all over them. There were stains on the comforters. Got new towels from the office and they were dirty with stains on them. The bathroom shower had hairs in it and looked so dirty that I needed to wear flip flops to go into the shower. There were stains on the carpet and mold in the bathroom. The only thing that wasn't bad about this place was the location. 5 minutes to Hollywood casino and 12 minutes to Hershey Park. Restaurant accross the street has average food if you order from the kitchen but the food from the buffet is horrible and over cooked.

no hot water and when I did have hot water the pressure sucked!! looks like they painted over mold instead of cleaning the mold first. Room was cold no heat in bathroom and ALL windows painted shut, very very low class motel which on there site they compare the motel to be like a 5 star hotel for less $$. the lady at desk DOES NOT speek very good english, fridge and microwave smelled bad, carpet needs cleaned, reminds me of a "quick stop" motel if u know what I mean....doors are unevenly gapped so there must be some structure issues..bathroom floor looks like it has not been mopped dirt and what looks like saw dust in corners. bathroom looks new but done very very cheap. when you walk on the floor in the room it bounces I was scared I was going to fall thourgh. went to office door and it w
