Coast Inn at Lake Hood

The rooms are quiet, appear clean but smell musty. Check in and out was easy. We had a late flight, and they stored our bags until we departed. The hotel is very convenient to the airport and provides shuttle service to the airport. However, it is not convenient to the train station nor downtown, which requires Uber/Taxi at $25+ per trip.

Very back in the day hotel, staff is more worried about what is on tick toc, Facebook, whatever sorry to bother you. The Pipers closes at 9pm so if you fly in forget it. My biggest gripe is the security guard god for bid you check in and park your vehicle under the over hang as every other hotel allows. If your disabled find some place else, no elevators. In a good not bed is comfy. Although I will not stay in a coastal brand hotel again two out of two failure. Stick to the the national brands!

Do NOT Stay Here — Complete Disaster! ★☆☆☆☆ This was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. The front desk staff had zero professionalism and acted like guests were an inconvenience. The room I was given was filthy — stains on the carpet, walls scuffed, and a horrible damp smell that made it hard to breathe. The bathroom was disgusting. Mold in the shower, a broken faucet, and towels so worn out they should have been thrown away years ago. The bed was uncomfortable, the sheets were rough, and to top it off, the air conditioning barely worked. I hardly slept all night. Noise was non-stop — slamming doors, loud voices in the hall, and thin walls that made it feel like I was in the room with strangers. Checked in, got my key, carried my bags up the stairs (no elevators) walked as far away from the front desk to my room (after flying 5000 miles and having to work a 16 hr day the next day), and the key will mot open my door. I carry all of my bags back down to the front desk. Explain the situation. I get an eye roll and they reprogram my key. I carry all of my bags back up the stairs and down to my room. I try the key again. Still does not open the door. I repeated this for a total of 4 trips before I convince the front desk that there may be a problem. Then I stand there for 15 minutes waiting on the handyman to show up. I have been staying at the Coast since 2010. There is always something that goes like this. Not sure how this place stays open.
