Clear Lake Cottages

The Billie Lou cabin we stayed in was simple and just what we needed for 2 of us but would be great for family of 4. Older cabin with updates where needed. Cabins are 1 block from the city park, beach, and a few bars and restaurants. During an email interaction with Clear lake cottages, I mentioned we were staying for our anniversary so when we got there, there were flowers and a small simple card. Nice little surprise. Only give it 4 stars due to massive amount of acorns and leaves on driveway and deck but the oaks are beautiful there! I just figure they could have a crew come in and take care of the leaves a bit.

First off we miss Doug and Michelle soooo bad! Whoever manages this place is kind of inexperienced. They have no idea what they're doing. The owners have no idea what goes on with they're place and I know that for a fact! We've been staying in the same cabin at the same time for around twenty five years. This year we went to reserve it for next year ( because you can only reserve it a year in advance) and were told its already been reserved since a few months before. Talked to the owner about this and he said he would look into it and get back to us about it. He never did. This place could be cute if the owners put some time and effort into it. I can't rate my stay because I never got the chance to stay here. I made my reservation before Christmas because I new this weekend would be a busy one since it is the 60th anniversary Winter Dance Party. For my husbands Christmas gift our kids and myself planned this weekend get away for him since he is a big fan of the rock and roll legends lost too soon. I started calling (Sonya) the management last week to confirm my reservation and got no response, Monday I tried again and left another voice mail, she finally called me back and said she had someone else using the cottage because their house closing got pushed back. I feel this is very poor management and very inconsiderate. Now with the weekend just days away I am scrabbling to find a place to stay for my husband and I. Whoever owns t

New owners beware. The company managing these properties are 100% non-responsive. I used to live in Clear Lake and we have been staying at the Clear Lake Cottages for the last 7 years. Needless to say we love CL and have enjoyed staying at the cottages. Upon arriving at we noticed an extremely strong smell of natural gas. All the neighbors could smell it too (from outside). Natural gas is nothing to take lightly so I did not let my family into the studio or turn on any source of ignition. We tried numerous times to get a hold of the management company (Sonja) leaving voicemails and texts. Neighbors and the owners sister tried to get a hold of her too. If you are looking to stay here I have good and bad things to say about it. I recommend it for the view and how close you are to the little town square and Beach as well as the boat ramps. The place I stayed in was JoJo. It was little one queen bed set up. The cottage itself with cute simple decor. The place is nicely set up and is a lot roomier than you would think. When you look out your front door or your side windows you can see a bit of the beach in the lake. Neighbors were friendly. Now what the don't tell you is you are expected to clean up after yourself. Like sweep, mop, scrub dishes if you used them or they will charge you for what they have to do.
