Clarion Inn & Suites Aiken South

I had to book a last minute room due to an emergency while traveling. I had my two dogs with me. Usually I struggle to find anywhere decent to stay in those situations. Clarion Inn was clean, comfortable, and most importantly accommodating. Each and every member of staff, and I do mean every single person I spoke to, was very kind and helpful. Also their biscuits and gravy at breakfast were delicious! I usually don’t bother with hotel breakfast but I was pleasantly surprised. They turned a very bad day into a very comfortable night. Thank you Clarion staff!

The location of this hotel is prime. But this hotel is in severe need to be updated. It's overpriced. There's rust everywhere. The floor was so dirty that I had to wash my slippers before packing them away.I typically clean surfaces with bleach water, but this needed scrubbing. There was mold in the freezer drip tray. Sticky stains on the shelves. The tub was filled with water during my shower. I had to remove the plug and set it aside.

Pretty run-down motel. Beds are uncomfortable and even though it was winter, they put a wafer thin comforter on top of a torn sheet. Had to really crank up the heat to stay warm. Staff tried to help, but the facility lacks the materials to make the room comfortable. Won't visit there again. And, of course, they offered nothing but a vague promise to do better next visit. Right! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

i booked a two bedroom suite for two couples traveling together, i even call the hotel to confirm the room set up to make sure it was appropriate, when i got to the hotel, the room was NOT as described, it had one room set up as a living room with a pull-out bed and one room with two FULL size beds, so my friends had a choice of sleeping on a pull-out bed or sleeping in the same room with my spouse and I, neither of which was happening. They ended up booking and paying for their own room. I was stuck paying $170 for a "two bedroom" suite that wasn't a suitable/representative room. They said their room smelled really bad and was very dirty, cobwebs all along the ceiling. Clarion Inn is where the bugs are loyal and the staff is not. Five stars for the roaches, zero for the humans. I wouldn’t wish my experience here on anyone. I checked in expecting a safe, clean room but was met with a bug-infested, unlivable space. There were spiders and multiple insects, and no one at the front desk or in management seemed to care. I had to cut my stay short because the conditions were simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, even my cat became visibly scared, and he usually loves chasing anything that moves. I noticed a few bugs on the first day and tried to be understanding since I live in the country and know how it can be. But by the fourth day, we had seen dozens of roaches. It was disgusting.
