Holiday Inn Express & Suites Aiken by IHG

My husband and I needed a quick place to stop and rest on our trip. Ms. Colosanta helped us get the room/checked in. She was so nice and helpful! The room was clean and beds were comfy. Thank you Colosanta for a good experience!

Kudos to Tony at the front desk for excellent service. On our one night stay we had a little matter and he was so gracious to help us out. Room was very spacious and conveniently set up for a good night sleep. We enjoyed the breakfast and especially enjoyed the cinnamon rolls. All staff were friendly and accommodating at this motel.

Positive: I'm from the area but traveled in for the holidays. This location is on the main side of town and many food and retail stores. It's one of the newer hotels so it's updated and offers key comforts. Negative: There was no way to switch inputs on the tv because there was a direct tv remote. I was unable to switch using the buttons on the tv either. Front desk clerk informed me how unhook from the box but it was a bit much to manually switch back and forth

I am a diamond elite member so I understand there will be issues but I will go elsewhere from now on. I have been staying at this location for work and after tonight's stay I will not longer stay here again. The first room I had the TV didn't work and the cleanliness wasn't what I would expect out of an IHG property. The only employee working did not care and was overwhelmed with other people trying to check. While waiting to get room changed he was talking with other guests using language that was inappropriate in a professional setting. On top of that they have changed their wifi to proxy/VPN servers instead. Only having one employee at 730 pm is not a good safety practice nor a customer service best practice.

First off, I was asked about a “green” initiative. Absolutely stupid. The room smells like dirty water, the elevator floor was not mopped my entire stay, and the “green” initiative was not thought out at all. Coffee: the lids were some paper crap that dissolves and does not fit the cups correctly. What a joke that is and if they are trying to get rid of plastic, why is the stirrer plastic? Anyway twice my coffee lid did not fit well enough to prevent spilling. One more thing, my sink counter was falling apart and junky. Staff was excellent and very nice! Though I will blacklist this hotel.
