Clarion Inn Columbia Airport

Front office person was very nice and helpful.|However property was run down and dated. Signage getting to the property was broken and partially hidden we missed the turn to get back to hotel. Broke down van sitting in front lot. Lobby itself was very dark and dated furniture, not really very welcoming. |The room was also VERY dated and in need of repairs: some rust on items, door was in desperate need of paint and was very scratched up. The door seal on frame was broken and you could see the outside easily. The bed mattress was a little broke down on one side, but comfortable. However, I ALWAYS check and the sheets and bedding were clean and the room smelled pleasant and like it had been cleaned. They didnt do a great job vacuuming since there was still small pieces of packaging or item

This is the best low price hotel we have ever stayed at. We just want a clean, quiet room with a functioning bathroom and hot water. We don’t need our beds made every day as we are just sleeping there. This hotel is old which you can tell from the outside, but well kept. Our room was exceptionally clean, even the carpet. It was spacious with a refrigerator, microwave, dresser, table and chairs. Bathroom looked newly redone. Hot water came up quickly. Sink drained great. There were bars of soap. They would have given us fresh towels if asked and at breakfast they did ask us if we needed anything. Breakfast: good coffee, individually packaged cereal, microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, assorted packaged items, individual milk and yogurt. Breakfast room is large and clean.

I don't typically stay in "Motels", so this has a lot to do with my response. It's rated 2 stars for a reason. With that said, the staff was nice, although not always available. The rooms were clean (enough), the air conditioner worked and one of the two TV's worked, after asking to have it fixed. We were upgraded from a King to a Suite, which was nice, because it provided us with an extra sink/toilet. Interestingly, in addition to the TV issue (one had a cracked screen and the other - which was fixed after asking - didn't have connection to channels), one of the sinks water supply was hooked up backwards (hot to cold, etc.), and one of the toilets wasn't tightened to the floor, so is wobbled. The rooms are great for the price, I love the fact that you get a choice on room service or not. The management is very polite and caring. Great place to stay if you are on a tight budget.

The room interior was fine albeit a lack of USB/Charging ports. Most hoteliers have built in ports now with no need to use a charging block. The point of contact at the desk was not readily available and you had to call this individual on the phone. Additionally I was asked about pets 4 times yet no pets were present. I needed a guest laundry but the dryer was not working and could not be fixed. The communication was horrible with the front desk due to a language gap. The outside was rusting, in various stages of decay and disrepair. Recently patched concrete on walkways was brittle and cracking up
