City View Inn

Got a room here when we attended the awesome Anders Osborne show at the phenomenal Brooklyn Bowl. This is a very old hotel. Like AHS old. In fact, I scared the $hit out of my husband because I kept saying there was a body in the mattress. The mattress was actually comfortable, but there were various suspicious stains on the carpet and walls. I'm not easily grossed out, though. They had free parking and a halfway decent continental breakfast. All the reviews that talked about the place smelling like cigarettes and weed are correct, and there does indeed seem to be some families taking up long term residence in the place. Bring a highly scented candle and you will be fine. Definitely not a fancy place, but the price was right. Front desk and staff were very polite.

This hotel was nothing special but it was the perfect location at the perfect price. The room was large enough for a single air mattress to fit without feeling cramped. The room was clean enough and there was good water pressure in the shower. The staff was cordial and helpful. And, there was parking and shuttle service to the subway.

This hotel is something!! It was our last minute book, and we decided to stay here because it was cheap and located pretty close to Manhattan. I am not picky about hotels at all! Clean bathroom, a bed and a friendly personal that's all what I need. I have no worries about this place just because they have Best Western logo. What to say? Don't want to be a nerd. Everything was old and mediocre around. Staff was not friendly. The only thing that I like was a view from our room - MANHATTAN. Next morning I realized how lucky we are because there is a cemetery across the street right behind the hotel, and I guess you have a big chance to get the room with a different nice view...They suggest you a free shuttle to subway station and back (free round trip once a day). It's now a shelter. But still no excuse for some of the conditions in this place.||||It's infested with roaches. There's mold. The cleaning people do not clean properly even when we point out their mistakes.||||This place is a health hazard for anyone that stays here.||||They have wifi but the wifi sucks sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. ||||Never experienced any like this in a hotel. ||Wouldnt wish this place on my worst enemy.||||Oh also when we first got here there was food on the walls. There's writing in the bathroom.||||Most wall outlets don't work properly. There's only 1 elevator and it's already broken xown which is a fire hazard.||||Some rooms don't have proper lighting.

They gave us a two bed room, when we reserved a room with a king bed. The person working the lobby then gave us a room with a king bed, but smelled of smoke. Almost empty roll of toilet paper. The toilet did not flush unless you held the handle. We didn't get the TP we asked for in a reasonable amount of time. We had to wait about an hour for the extra toilet paper. You could only use one electrical device at a time. Two port outlet for a mini fridge, microwave, and TV. At least provide a power strip. Streak marks on the bathroom mirror and TV screen. The furniture was dusty.
