Wingate by Wyndham Long Island City

I stayed at this hotel while dealing with a stressful housing situation and needed a quiet place to focus on preparing for court. Unfortunately, my experience the first night was very concerning. Shortly after arriving, I found what appeared to be a bed bug on the curtain in my room. It was located well above eye level and away from the bed or any food surfaces. Because of the potential risk, I inspected the bed and surrounding area but understandably had difficulty sleeping that night. To the hotel’s credit, they did move me to another room the next day, which allowed me to focus on my work and court preparation. However, when I later raised the issue again and requested either a refund for the first night (since I could not reasonably sleep due to the situation) or an extension for one

At first everything was great. Checked in room was nice. Got settled in and went out side the front lobby to walk 2 minutes for a couple drinks and snacks from store. Immediately got confronted by a very pushy aggressive drug addict who made my fiancé feel very uncomfortable. I thought it was weird 20 Nypd officers were hanging out in the lobby a lot of the night. ||The next morning after feeling very un easy all night…. Keep in mind she has lived in NY for years and this was the most uncomfortable thing she’s come across. Next morning we head down to front desk to talk to the lady there at the moment. Location is okay—Long Island City on 12th St, about 5-10 min walk to F train (quick to Manhattan), near skyline views and some eats. Convenient for budget NYC trips, but area feels industrial/quiet at night—not as vibrant as Manhattan. Rooms were a highlight: spacious, very clean, comfy beds, modern setup with good AC, fridge, and nice bathroom. Felt fresh and well-maintained—great for the price. Service was mixed—some staff friendly and helpful at check-in, but slow responses and understaffed vibe overall.

The hotel smells good and clean. The staffs are friendly and helpful.

The front desk staff is very knowledgeable, approachable, and friendly, no matter day or night shift. The rooms have always been clean and serviced with made beds throughout the day. Easy walk to the subway accessible to Manhattan, Queens, or Brooklyn. LOVE staying here
